‘Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya’ – from darkness to light – the assembly programme staged by the students of Class V was indeed an embodiment of light love and laughter. The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Veer Singh followed by a scintillating dance depicting the progress of the universe from chaos to cosmos. The dance sought Divine Blessing and invoked the cosmos to bestow a small quantum of its immense energy on the young students.

Thus charged with the invincible cosmic energy, the students went on to depict on the stage, through music, dance and theatrical presentation, a theme very dear to all hearts-Education- universal and absolute as the only dispeller of the darkness of ignorance, the only redeemer from death to eternal life, the only entity to lift man up from the path of   untruth and lead him along the path of truth. Education is the birthright of all, whether rich or poor, girl or boy, privileged or unprivileged. It helps to fight all social evils be it poverty, superstition or corruption.

The participants of the cultural programme received accolades from the Chief Guest. The programme ended with a fusion dance conveying the message that we must begin to view life with a child-like innocence or with neutral perception in order to function efficiently within the swiftly changing world.

Such was the all- encompassing theme of the special assembly of Class V. Not only did it the perfect performances by students so young enthrall the audience, but it also set them thinking on terms of the needs of the society as a whole.
